Private schools in Las Vegas, and how far they are from each community
Only two independent schools here run from preschool through 12th grade, and both are on the west side. That matters if you are looking in Henderson.

The short answer
- Two independent schools run preschool through 12th grade: The Meadows and Adelson, both on the west side.
- Henderson International goes through 8th grade, so Henderson families plan for a longer high-school drive.
- Most schools take applications for the next fall in winter. Moving mid-year is possible, but start early.

What it means for where you buy
- On the west side, every school on the list is within 20 minutes of The Ridges, Red Rock Country Club and Queensridge, except Henderson International.
- In Henderson, the younger grades are close. Henderson International is 10 to 12 minutes from Ascaya and MacDonald Highlands.
- The high-school years are the long drive from Henderson. Bishop Gorman, Faith Lutheran and The Meadows are 26 to 34 minutes away.
- Southern Highlands sits in the middle, about 20 to 32 minutes from everything on the list.
If your children will be in high school while you own the home, map the drive before you pick the community.

When do you need to apply?
- The Meadows: applications for fall 2027 close January 1, 2027. The school accepts applications year-round and keeps a waitlist.
- Faith Lutheran: applications for fall 2027 close January 29, 2027. After that, it accepts families moving to the area if space allows.
- Bishop Gorman: a mid-year transfer window runs October 28 to December 2, 2026 for a January 5, 2027 start.
- Henderson International: once a place is offered and documents are in, a student may be able to start within five school days.
Dates are each school’s own for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 cycles. Confirm with the admissions office, because they change every year.

Can my child start mid-year?
Often, yes, if there is space. Bishop Gorman has a mid-year transfer window and Henderson International can start students within days. Call admissions as soon as you know your move date.
