What “guard-gated” means in Las Vegas
Every community on this list has a staffed guard at each gate. What differs is how many ways in there are.

One gate means one way in and out for residents, guests and deliveries. Several gates spread that traffic out.

How do guests get in?
You call ahead to the gate and give permission for your guest. The guard checks them against it when they arrive. The same applies to contractors and service visits.
Ask the HOA how its guest list works before you close, including how standing permissions are handled for housekeepers, pool service and family.

What a gate does and doesn’t do
A staffed gate controls who drives in. That is the job. For anything beyond access, ask the HOA what its security staff covers inside the community.
Staffed or not is settled here. The real difference between these communities is how many ways in there are.
